Methacton Youth Wrestling is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 6th grade. There are no residency or school district requirements—anyone is welcome to join.
No prior wrestling experience is necessary. We welcome complete beginners as well as wrestlers with previous experience.
The wrestling season generally runs from November through mid-February, with optional postseason opportunities extending into March. Exact dates vary each year, but a typical season looks like this:
Wrestlers practice two nights per week during the season. Practices are generally 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the wrestler’s practice group and the night. Practices for younger wrestlers are typically one hour.
During the regular season, meets are held most Saturdays and generally last about 3–4 hours.
Attendance at practices and meets is not mandatory, and we understand that families have other activities and commitments. However, consistent participation is highly encouraged—the more time wrestlers put into the sport, the more they will learn and improve.

Meets are hosted by wrestling clubs throughout the surrounding area. Most regular-season meets are within approximately a 30-minute drive of Methacton High School, although locations vary from season to season.

Wrestling experience is not required to help. We can always use extra hands on the mat, particularly with our younger wrestlers, as well as volunteers interested in helping coordinate club activities.
